One of the traditional ways of honoring an Elder is to provide them with a blanket. Often this is a traditional Pendleton blanket. Over the years, we have had many support people who wanted to make a donation to the Program on behalf of a loved one or in memory of someone who had passed on.
The Memorial Blanket Program is an opportunity to honor someone by donating a new blanket that is then given to one of our Program Elders. Many of these blankets are Pendleton blankets, and many are handmade. During each semi-annual foodrun, the blankets are distributed to Elders who are part of our Program.
If you would like to make a donation of a new blanket as part of this Program, please send the blanket to our warehouse address above along with a card identifying the person you are remembering by donating the blanket. If you would like to make a donation to this Program, we will purchase a blanket on your behalf and deliver it to an Elder.
