Donations to the Yarn Program provides traditional Navajo yarns to the weavers. These yarns are a double gift. They provide a means for the Elders and weavers in their families to continue the tradition of weaving and also allow them to sell their rugs and weavings for needed resources. Many of the rugs you see on our website are woven from yarns given to the Elders through the Yarn Program. Today, many of the Elders are unable to raise enough sheep to have the wool needed to make rugs.
